We’re confident that we were among Aircall’s very first customers back in 2015.

At the time, Aircall felt revolutionary: no expensive hardware, quick setup, and the promise of a phone system that finally worked in the cloud.

But since then, many competitors have emerged, offering AI-powered features, mobile-first apps, and greater reliability. As a result, more teams are starting to feel Aircall’s limits: dropped calls, costly add-ons, and a clear focus on larger accounts.

If you’re considering making a switch, this guide is for you. We’ve reviewed 25 tools and selected the strongest alternatives to Aircall for 2025.

Pros and cons of Aircall

Aircall didn’t become a VoIP leader by chance. Their product is impressive and works well for many companies. But during our interviews with Aircall users, we heard both sides of the story—the strengths they appreciate, and the limits they’ve run into.

Aircall’s strengths

  • Recognized and trusted brand that feels safe to choose.
  • Clean user experience, easy for most sales/support teams.
  • Strong integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, etc.
  • Unlimited inbound and internal calls included.
  • Wide geo coverage (100+ countries).

Aircall’s weaknesses

  • Call quality issues: frequent reports of dropped calls, echo, and lag.
  • Inconsistent support: some users feel left on their own when problems arise.
  • Expensive add-ons: AI ($9 per user/month), Analytics+ ($15 per user/month).
  • Three-license minimum, which makes it costly for small teams.
  • AI limited to English only.
  • Complex setup for non-technical teams.
  • Focus on large accounts: below 50 licenses, service quality drops noticeably.

If you’re exploring alternatives, you’re in the right place.

We reviewed 25 Aircall competitors and picked our favorites.

Our selection methodology

To make this article useful, here’s how we built our ranking:

  • Testing methods: we tested call quality, mobile apps, pricing, and AI features across 25 tools.
  • Evaluation criteria:
    • Ease of use (can a small business owner onboard in 10 minutes?)
    • Pricing transparency
    • AI and automation features
    • Integrations (CRM, helpdesk, productivity tools)
    • Call quality and reliability
  • Scope: 25 tools reviewed, narrowed down to 7 alternatives.

Now, without further ado, let's begin.

Allo Vs. Aircall

We recommend Allô for small business owners and anyone who’s often on the go, looking for an AI-powered phone system that fits right in their pocket.

Why is Allô a solid alternative?

Allô is built mobile-first for small and medium businesses. Unlike Aircall, which is desktop-heavy and geared toward mid-market call centers, Allô puts the entire business phone system right on your smartphone. No hardware, no IT setup, no sales calls, no SIM card.

It’s not trying to be a “corporate phone system.” Instead, it’s designed for real entrepreneurs: contractors, real estate agents, and small teams who need to answer calls and look professional while on the go.

With Allô, outdated VoIP systems are replaced by a simple app: buy a number, set up IVR, and activate an AI receptionist in just minutes—straight from your phone.

And unlike Aircall, you don’t need a three-license minimum, nor do you pay extra for AI or analytics.

Pricing

One of the most difficult aspects to understand about Aircall's pricing is its add-ons.

Why?

Because some of them have to be calculated on a per-call basis, and that, when you receive 20 or more calls a day, isn't cost-effective.

On the other side, Allô has all the AI features included in its two plans, Starter and Business, including call recording, smart call routing, virtual assistant, and many more features.

Saying this, the Starter plan costs $18/month for 1 user max, and the Business one costs $32/month per user.

Comparing with the Essential plan of Aircall that costs $30 per license and the Professional one that costs $50/license, Allô continues being pretty competitive on this aspect.

Dialpad Vs. Aircall

Next on our list of major Aircall competitors is Dialpad, one of the most recognized names in the space.

Why is Dialpad a good alternative?

For us, Dialpad is best suited for contact center agents and sales teams.

Why?

Because it includes real-time transcription, automatic call summaries, and an AI Live Coach that even performs live sentiment analysis during calls.

If AI features are a priority, Dialpad is actually stronger than Aircall, especially since these tools come standard in the basic plans.

Pricing

Dialpad’s public pricing starts at $15 per user/month for Standard and $25 for Pro, with real-time transcripts and instant call summaries included. Even without factoring in the AI features, Dialpad is already more competitive on price than Aircall.

Ringover Vs. Aircall

If you’re a small or mid-sized European team looking for a multichannel communication solution, Ringover might be a good fit..

Why is Ringover a good alternative?

Ringover is a French Aircall competitor that positions itself as a business phone and team messaging platform.

While Aircall focuses mostly on voice, Ringover pushes the idea of a multichannel communication solution, unifying calls, SMS, and internal chat in one tool. This makes it especially attractive for sales and support teams that want to centralize all their communications in one app.

Pricing

Ringover’s pricing is competitive with Aircall, since all plans include AI features and start with the Smart plan at $21 per user/month.

The Business plan reaches $44 per user/month, which is more expensive than Allô, but still cheaper than Aircall.

Mightycall Vs. Aircall

If you’re running a call center–style operation (outbound sales, multiple agents, supervisors, heavy reporting), then you should definitely check Mightycall.

Why is Mightycall a good alternative?

MightyCall is a cloud-based business phone system designed for call centers and companies with high call volumes.

Its strength lies in managing large call volumes with robust call flows, agent management tools, and affordable unlimited calling across the US and Canada. Accessible via mobile or web, with no hardware required, it’s essentially a “mini call center in a box.”

Pricing

MightyCall’s pricing starts at $15 per user/month, compared to Aircall’s ~$30+, with both requiring a three-seat minimum. Even the Pro plan, at $23 per user/month, remains cheaper than Aircall.

For small teams, that works out to nearly half the cost.

Cloudtalk Vs. Aircall

If you’re running a full-scale contact center with high-volume sales or support teams and need global coverage, Cloudtalk is probably the best alternative to Aircall.

Why is Cloudtalk a good alternative?

CloudTalk is positioned as a cloud-based call center solution. Unlike Allô (mobile-first) or Aircall (mid-market sales/support), CloudTalk focuses on advanced call routing, analytics, and integrations for inbound and outbound contact centers.

It’s designed for scaling teams that handle high call volumes like sales orgs, customer support desks, and call centers across Europe and the US.

Pricing

CloudTalk’s pricing starts at $25 per user/month, with no three-seat minimum and support for 140+ countries (compared to Aircall’s ~100).

It also offers an Essential plan at $29 per user/month and an Expert plan at $49 per user/month for high-performance teams.

Justcall Vs. Aircall

If you’re a sales-led business, agency, or outbound-heavy startup, then Justcall is probably your best bet.

Why is Justcall a good alternative?

JustCall is based in the US and India, with a strong user base across North America, Europe, and APAC. Like CloudTalk, it offers global coverage with local, toll-free, and international numbers in 70+ countries.

Its focus is on outbound productivity with power dialers, SMS automation, call tracking, and coaching features, making it especially attractive to sales teams, agencies, and startups scaling their outbound operations.

Pricing

JustCall pricing starts at $29 per user/month with no three-seat minimum. It also offers two higher-tier plans: $49 per user/month and the Pro Plus at $89 per user/month.

In terms of cost, pricing is similar to Aircall, with AI Review Assist and SMS Bundles available as add-ons. The real value lies in the built-in power dialer and predictive dialer at the higher tiers, features Aircall doesn’t offer.

Nextiva Vs. Aircall

Nextiva is a great choice if you’re looking for a complete solution that brings voice, video, chat, and phone numbers together in one platform.

Why is Nextiva a good alternative?

We describe Nextiva as a unified communications platform. Unlike Aircall, which focuses mainly on calls, Nextiva also includes video conferencing, team chat, SMS/MMS, and more in a single solution.

Whereas Aircall positions itself as the “voice layer” that integrates with CRMs, Nextiva presents itself as a complete UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) solution, similar to RingCentral or Zoom Phone.

This makes it appealing for businesses that prefer an all-in-one provider instead of stitching together multiple tools.

Nextiva review on G2.

Pricing

Nextiva’s entry price starts at $23 per user/month, compared to Aircall’s $30.

However, AI transcription and summaries are only available on the higher-tier plan at $75 per user/month. If those features are important to you, Allô is a stronger choice since they’re already included in the basic $18 plan.

3CX Vs. Aircall

If you’re a larger team, an IT-heavy company, or a call center looking for full PBX flexibility, advanced features, and low per-user costs, we recommend 3CX.

Why is 3CX a good alternative?

3CX is a self-hosted or cloud-hosted PBX system. Unlike Aircall (pure SaaS, mid-market voice app), 3CX can be installed on-premises or in your private cloud (AWS, Google, Azure).

Keep in mind that on-premises PBX systems typically require dedicated IT staff for maintenance and upgrades but offer enhanced customization options and potentially greater security for businesses with specific communication needs.

That is why, we recommend 3CX for IT-heavy companies, call centers, and resellers who want maximum flexibility, advanced features, and lower long-term costs.

Pricing

3CX has a different model than Aircall:

  • You pay per system (PBX license), not per user.
  • They offer a free plan for up to 10 users.

Paid plans start at €350/annual license.

Frequently Asked Questions About Aircall

What is better than Aircall?

It depends on your business needs:

  • If you want AI features (real-time transcription, summaries, coaching) included by default, Allô is better as you don’t pay extra for AI add-ons.
  • If you need a true call center solution with advanced routing, queues, and dialers, CloudTalk or 3CX will serve you better.
  • If you’re focused on outbound sales and SMS automation, JustCall has more dialer and SMS marketing tools than Aircall.

In short: Aircall works well for mid-sized sales/support teams, but if you’re very small, very large, or very AI-focused, there are stronger options.

Is Aircall a unicorn?

Yes. Aircall became a unicorn in June 2021 after raising a $120M Series D round at a $1B+ valuation. That milestone gave them global recognition, especially in Europe. But keep in mind: being a unicorn reflects investor confidence at the time, not necessarily product-market fit for every type of business.

What are Aircall’s top competitors?

Aircall’s main competitors are other cloud phone systems for SMBs and mid-market teams:

  • Dialpad → AI-powered, transcription & coaching tools included.
  • Allô → Mobile-first, AI included, modern, and best for SMBs on the go.
  • Ringover → French competitor with unlimited calling + messaging.
  • MightyCall → Affordable, with strong call center tools and dialers.
  • CloudTalk → Deep call center features, global reach, advanced routing.
  • JustCall → Outbound sales dialers, SMS automation, predictive dialing.
  • Nextiva → All-in-one platform with voice, video, and team chat.
  • 3CX → Full PBX system, cheaper at scale, but requires IT resources.

How does Allô compare to Aircall?

Here are some key reasons why Allô is a better fit than Aircall.

  • Pricing: Allô starts at $20/month per user, AI included. Aircall starts around $30+ per user, with a 3-seat minimum, and AI only as a paid add-on.
  • AI: Allô includes AI call summaries, transcripts, and a virtual receptionist in the base plan. Aircall charges extra ($9–15/user) for AI features.
  • Mobile-first: Allô runs entirely from your smartphone or tablet, with no hardware or IT needed. Aircall is desktop-first, better suited for office-based teams.
  • Best fit: Aircall is a better fit for mid-sized sales/support teams (50–500 seats). Allô is better for small businesses and teams under 50 seats who want a phone system “in their pocket.”
