An 877 number for your business

877 is a US toll-free code: the caller pays nothing, your business covers the call. Put an 877 line in front of your team, answered by AI when nobody can.

Free for 7 days. No card, keep your number.

What an 877 number is

877 opened in 1998, the third toll-free code after 800 and 888.

Free for the caller

A call from a landline costs the caller nothing. Your business pays for it. Mobile callers use their plan minutes unless the plan is unlimited.

A toll-free code since 1998

877 became a toll-free code in 1998, according to Somos, the administrator of the US toll-free number database.

Same rules as every code

800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888 all work the same way. They are not interchangeable: 1-877-555-0100 and 1-800-555-0100 reach two different businesses.

On the Business plan

Ask for an 877 line at signup or later from Settings > Numbers. It rings your team on mobile, desktop and web.

Every toll-free code

All seven work the same way for callers, and all of them are on Allo. What differs is when each one opened. Pick one to read about it.

877 numbers, answered

877 is not a place. It is one of the seven US toll-free codes (800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888), in use since 1998. A business on an 877 number can be reached from anywhere in the country, and the caller pays nothing from a landline.

From a landline, yes: the business receiving the call pays for it. From a mobile phone, the call uses the caller's plan minutes unless the plan is unlimited.

The code says nothing about who is calling. 877 numbers are ordinary toll-free lines that businesses use for sales and support. Like any number, one can be misused, so if a call looks wrong, call the business back on a number you already trust.

Toll-free numbers come with the Business plan. Ask for an 877 line at signup or at any time from Settings > Numbers, and our team confirms the number and its price. Which numbers are free depends on the national toll-free database.

Yes. Allo ports toll-free numbers on 800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888, for free. A toll-free port usually takes 7 to 14 business days, and the old line keeps taking calls until it completes.

On Allo, toll-free lines are for calls. To text customers in the US, add a local number registered for 10DLC, a one-time $24 for the whole company.
