Unified Communications as a Service

What is UCaaS?

UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) is a cloud service that brings business phone calls, video meetings, messaging and often file sharing into one platform. It is delivered over the internet on a per-user subscription.

How it works

The provider runs the communications platform in its data centers. Users sign in to desktop, mobile and web apps that share one directory, one set of numbers and one presence status.

The phone part is a cloud PBX: numbers, extensions, routing and voicemail. Around it sit video meetings, team chat and integrations with tools like calendars and CRMs.

Administrators manage users, numbers and policies in a web console, and the provider handles updates, security and capacity.

Why it matters

01

One tool instead of several

Fewer subscriptions and fewer apps to switch between.

02

Predictable cost

A per-user monthly price replaces hardware and maintenance contracts.

03

Work from anywhere

The same number, chats and meetings follow each person on every device.

Allo and UCaaS

Allo focuses on the phone part of the stack: a cloud phone system with shared numbers, routing and AI that records, transcribes and summarizes calls into your CRM.
