During account creation, we'll ask whether you want to port an existing number or get a new one. Select "port my existing number" to keep the number your customers already know.
The entire porting process happens directly in the app. Just follow the guided steps, we'll tell you exactly what we need and handle the carrier on your behalf.
Your number transfers with zero downtime. We keep you updated at every stage, submitted, accepted, scheduled, until the port is complete.
Need instructions on how to port from a specific carrier? We've got you covered.
Don't see your carrier? Start your request and we'll confirm eligibility within 24 hours.
Have these from your current carrier ready before you start the port in the app. The most common cause of a rejected port is a name that doesn't match.
Porting is completely free with Allo. Your ported number is included in your existing plan at no extra monthly fee. Your current carrier may charge an early-termination or port-out fee, so check your contract before you start.
You can port US, Canadian and most international numbers, including toll-free (800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877, 888) and French mobile (06/07) and landline numbers. We confirm portability once you start the port in your account. Some VoIP restrictions vary by provider.
It depends on your carrier and number type. In the US and Canada, mobile numbers take 2 to 4 business days, landlines 7 to 10 business days and toll-free numbers 7 to 14 business days. French numbers: landlines 10 to 15 business days, mobile about a week. We keep you updated throughout.
Yes. You can use your current number as normal right up to the cutover date, and most users see no disruption. We also recommend getting a temporary Allo number to test with while you wait.
No. Your previous call history and text conversations don't carry over during porting. Export anything you want to keep from your old provider before the cutover date. You can easily import and sync your contacts to Allo.
